The objective of WMC America Region is to provide a non-political forum to bring together the widely scattered community of people of Malayalee/Kerala origin and strengthen the common bonds of culture, tradition and way of life. WMC works towards an international brotherhood of Malayalees/people of Kerala origin to bolster their cultural, artistic and social uniqueness and give resilience and understanding towards other cultures with which they have to co-exist and interact. World Malayalee Council, the organisation working with the Malayalee diaspora across the Globe. The Malayalee are an ethno-linguistic group native to the South Indian state of Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep and have the Malayalam language as their mother tongue.The Malayali community in India has a history of immigrants to the region from various parts of the world, as well as a unique sub-culture owing to the tropical environment of the state.
Our Organization
WMC has a well defined and efficiently structured organization with provinces in over 40 countries which are grouped under six regions as listed below.
1.America – Continent of North and South America and Caribbean Island
2.Europe – The continent of Europe
3.Africa – The continent of Africa
4.Middle East – All Gulf countries, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran.
5.India – India, Srilanka, Mali, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan
6.Far East & Australia – Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China, Japan, Fiji Island
The World Malayalee Council was formed in April 1995. It was inaugurated on 3rd July 1995 at the first ever World Convention of Non Resident Malayalees.
Our Objectives
To provide a meeting point for interested Malayalees all over the World to open up new possibilities for their economic, political and social growth and better understanding by extrapolating their inherited rich culture and economic, political and social values.
To facilitate a dynamic link between the Malayalee experience, expertise and entrepreneurship in the developing and the developed countries for the invigoration of the Malayalee Community at large, and the Kerala State in particular.
To seek out and recognize Malayalee Talents, Skills and Intelligence on a global level and mobilize them for the enhancement of Professional Development, Career Advancement, and Technological breakthrough.
To organize an international network of Malayalees of different age groups to constantly communicate, share and update their knowledge base. 5. To create a cultural awakening in the Malayalee Diaspora, scattered world-wide, and to instill in them the openness of culling out the cream of all cultures paving the way for a world harmony.

World Malayalee Council shall be working closely with the people of Kerala origin across the globe for effectively promoting their – integration and solidarity, exchange and cooperation, empowerment and recognition through programs, projects and institutions of innovative nature in the area of human, economic, cultural and social enhancement and empowerment to augment and channelize the Social capital of the Malayalee Community for a productive and sustainable future.

The charter of the organization recognizes the revolutionary transformation taking place at global levels as a result of quantum leaps in technology. WMC works towards an international brotherhood of Malayalees/people of Kerala origin to bolster their cultural, artistic and social uniqueness and give resilience and understanding towards other cultures with which they have to co-exist and interact.
WMC has constituted world wide Regional and Provincial Councils with eminent Malayalees who have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally. At different organizational levels suitable and committed persons with vision and integrity are elected . WMC is responsive to the needs of the diverse multi racial geographical milieu in which Malayalees move about.
This organization with a global network provide opportunities and capabilities for people of all age group to provide leadership and service to the community they live in and to the motherland Kerala/India. WMC gives special emphasis to the development of the new generation of expatriate Malayalees who feel cultural and social alienation in their adopted country.
